After a lengthy spell in free agency, veteran running back Dalvin Cook has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Jets, per a report from Tom Pelissero.

Cook was released by the Vikings in June and took his time before signing with another organization, waiting more than two months before coming to an agreement with New York.

The 28-year-old visited Jets training camp in late July, where he was greeted with a warm welcome from fans in attendance. Less than three weeks later, Cook is set to sign a one-year deal with the franchise.

The move came just hours after the Patriots agreed to sign Ezekiel Elliott, as the Jets fortified their own backfield with the addition of Cook, who will form a fearsome tandem in the backfield alongside second-year star Breece Hall.

Naturally, NFL fans had plenty to say about the Jets’ big free agency splash.
