DEADWOOD, S.D. (KELO) — Officials say the Red Cross has contacted a Deadwood resident after a fire over the weekend.
The Deadwood Volunteer Fire Department says it happened Saturday on Charles Street. Crews arriving on the scene found smoke and flames coming from the building.
One cat was found dead inside. A nearby building had its siding melted.
The Lead Volunteer Fire Department was called in to help.
